We received such good feedback last week that I decided to go back to the drawing board and create a comparable post that the ladies can apply. I attempted to balance keeping it real and avoiding chauvinism as much as possible but at the end of the day, this is a ‘Manly blog’ so here goes…
Every Grown (Wo)man Should…
1. Be able to do 10 squats straight…
- There are few things more attractive to me than a woman who is dedicated to fitness. This just points back to the idea of “Healthy Mind, Healthy Body”. Riv’s formula is Squats & Cornbread. Might sound absurd but there’s a little honesty in every joke right? (See Health & Fitness Month)
2. Be knowledgeable in football and/or basketball…
- Another absolute turn-on is a woman who is passionate about sports. This is a dedication that you won’t find often. A few will disregard this and others will gain a competitive advantage.
3. Know when to use her “Super(P)owers”…
- All I’m saying is if I need to fall back, you flirt with the gullible cashier who ends up giving you an extra 30% off, and we walk out of the store together….we both win! Teamwork makes the dream work!
4. Have soft hands & feet…
- Nothing worst than sandpaper hands and feet, especially on a female. Jergens has a remedy for these problems.
5. Master the Kegels…
- Oh my!!! Sonnnnn! This right here is SERIOUS!
6. Know the lyrics of at least 1 rap song…
- From beginning to end. Maybe its just me, but I love a chick that can spit the lyrics to a dope verse. Im talking “All i need”, “Best of Me (Rmx)”, etc.. The Classics!
7. Know the difference between a Phillips and flat-head…
- All the independent women have to be able to complete some household tasks. Knowing how to use a screwdriver is a good starting point.
8. Put up a good play fight & not get serious…
- No Chris Brown’ing over here. But a chick that’s not scared to wrestle with her dude is pretty tough.
9. Walk flawlessly in heels…
- Or at least be able to play it off when you “buckle”. The sight of a women falling in heels is always somewhere between hilarious and tragic. Don’t wear heels bigger than your
swagdemeanor!
10. Bake
- I said I was going to “attempt” to not be chauvinistic. Plenty women can cook, and a lot can’t, but baking is where you really set yourself apart from the rest as far as I’m concerned. Betty Crocker could’ve had any man she wanted. Fact
That’s all i can think of off the top but I’m sure everybody in The Winner’s Circle will have plenty more to add to the list.

LOL. “A” for effort, Chaz. Hahahahaha…..
Lol, I think women have mastered or at least accepted most of these things into their daily lives already…although #7 would be tricky for some…
LOL this is a good one Chaz!
oh wow. i like this because it’s something simple. is this really how men view women? interesting. any who, us females tend to forget the simple (common sense) things in life bc we are more driven to the fine printed details that we forget to see the big picture. however these ten points focus in on it. snaps.
This is so simple! I would hope women apply these to their everyday lives. Men are simple creatures! Food, sleep, sex, and entertainment are the most basic needs to please a man.
It’s hilariously Ironic how Cooking (baking), has become a topic of chauvinism in 2011 lol. I view that as being a REAL woman. If ALL you can do is work & bring money home, you’re worthless; A REAL man should be able to take care of himself financially….Every topic brought up though, I agree with whole heartedly with the exception of #2. I feel there’s VERY FEW women who actually ENJOY sports. Their favorite players are usually who they’re attracted to the most, and their favorite teams are usually who their Boyfriend and/or father like. I feel like “enjoying sports” is more of a plea for acceptance for women. I’m just fine with the chick that doesn’t do sports, I just take it as her insecurities haven’t pushed her to act like she enjoys something that she doesn’t…..
I disagree, if you don’t bake/ cook I don’t think that makes you worthless as a female. Putting all the strain on the fact that a man brings home the money and handles financial obligations is so the 50′s!!!! I would put more stress on me grinding, working hard, bringing in the “CAKE” to care of myself & all my needs versus being able to bake a “CAKE” … That’s just my opinion…. However, be a woman of many hats…. Bringing in the cake & being able to “bake a cake” is indeed a winner!!! *Raises hands… WOOP WOOP lol
And there Tisha, Lays the problem; women telling other women how the emphasis should be placed on moving AWAY from what woman-hood once was. The divorce rate being over 50% and getting worse, doesn’t just come from nowhere. I could go on & on, but the statistics are there. 2+2 ALWAYS = 4! It’s said that only 30%-40% or so of black women (“I’m INDEPENDENT” lol) EVER get married. Let’s look at those numbers in other cultures, looks like Asain women (the classic docile) are getting snatched up lol. Y’all keep screaming that overly independent shit if you want, i’m sure some loser will marry you one day (when you’re 50) lol.

I agree with They, if your focus is me, myself, and i then of course your blinders are not gonna be on towards wants of your significant other. When you become “one” and truly realize what that means, you’ll understand the others flaws and dont just “deal with it” but adapt to it.
In my opinion the divorce rate is so high because people view marriage as a line in the sand; a permanant, never wavering, no grey space “understanding”. But as anything layin in the sand it will eventually get worn down, deformed, and eventually become non-existant.
The bases of what im saying is let your relationships be as a curvy road; full of twists and turns, ups and downs but life is unpreditable like that right? and though some parts may be better than the others and the dashes in the middle of the road might fade you still know where your in the right lane…
This is the comment that I disagree with …” If ALL you can do is work & bring money home, you’re worthless;” ….. Im not promoting being “overly- independent, but I dont think because your a woman who is very active in the community, making money and means for yourself, but not necessarily a “cooker” means your worthless… Lets just take a step out of the 50′s and realize that many women go wrong becoming dependent on a man for financial obligations or thinking he will take care of you… There is nothing wrong with being submissive to your man, making him feel like he is the man of the household…. However you could state all the statistics and facts you want, you need to make sure you have a plan A,B,C,D,E,F, & G!!! We arent living black & white films here… If he decides to leave,go off, or its not working, then what are you to do??? I think we are both right in a sense, however you need to be able to do it all, be versatile… That’s just my perception of life …. Trust I wont be getting married to a loser when im 50, nor will I entertain your ignorance of not being able to discuss an opinion… lol… Have A Good One Sweetie
